Take one part rock 'n' roll fantasy, one part Broadway quality performances and one part behind-the-scenes secrets of television and film, sprinkle it with a little bit of Disney magic and what do you get? You get the Disney MGM Studios, and a lifetime of memories.
With a focus on the whole family's entertainment, you're sure to find something for everyone. For the little ones, check out the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. Even though your kids won't shrink, they'll feel as if they did as they climb on ants big enough to ride and walk through grass that's as tall as trees.
Another experience that the youngest members of your family are guaranteed to love is the Playhouse Disney Live on Stage production. They'll dance and laugh and be thrilled by 'guest appearances' by their favorite characters.
And what would a trip to Disney be without some of their most loved film characters? The Voyage of the Little Mermaid takes your family on an under the sea adventure where colorful puppets, special affect, live actors, film clips and fantastic songs are sure to delight. And if that's not enough to bring a smile to your child's face, be sure to check out the Beauty and the Beast live action show, where the fairy tale comes to life.
The Great Movie Ride allows other favorite films throughout time to be experienced all over again. Film clips and Audio-Animatronic representations of your favorite stars and cinematic legends combine to spotlight many great films.
But how are these films made? Among the best attractions at Disney's MGM Studios park are those that teach guests how the movies work. Take a ride on the Disney MGM Studios Backlot Tour and you'll find out how battles at sea are created. Not only that, but you'll get to take a ride through facades that have been used as the outsides of many a television home.
Of course, that's not all there is to television and film, so the tour continues through soundstage areas and props and lighting departments, finally making it to Catastrophe Canyon, where different effects are put together to create a dangerous scene.
And, once you've witnessed the effects, you'll want to know all about how the actors work within them. You can head over to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular where you'll see explosions, and crashes, fight scenes - and how the actors and effects work together.
If you're still hungry for action you should take in the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. There, you'll see how how action stunts are done with prompts like cars, motorcycles and other fast-moving vehicles.
After all this adventure, you might want to go back and get some rest at your hotel, but instead you should head to the Hollywood Towers Hotel and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. After taking the elevator up thirteen floors, you'll drop unexpectedly. Even more unexpected though, you'll shoot back up. And because the ride has a number of different programs, the drop sequence will be different every time you ride.
But the best ride you'll find in the park is the one that's a little less Hollywood and a lot more Rock 'n' Roll - the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Rush through the darkness on your way to the show on this indoor roller coaster that takes you from 0-60 mph in seconds to a specially mixed soundtrack featuring the music of Aerosmith.
You'll be amazed by how fast your day at Disney's MGM Studios will pass!
