There's no one reason why Wet 'n Wild is regarded as one of the best water parks around. However, there are a lot of small reasons that add up.
The facilities in general are well maintained. Appropriate bathing suit attire is required on all of the thrill rides and slides which helps to keep them in top form. The folks at Wet 'n Wild have thought this out, and realizing that there will need to be a place to keep your street clothes have installed all-day lockers. There are even showers available so that you can rinse off after your day of fun.
And Wet 'n Wild is definitely an all day destination, with something to offer everyone in your group. For the more mellow, the Lazy River ride is a relaxing journey. Riding on a tube, you float your way from the beginning to end, taking in the scenery of Florida's past.
Another option for those who hope to unwind is the 17,000 square foot wave pool. If the sand is more your thing, make sure you check out the beach volleyball courts.
If you are more of a daredevil, you're in luck. Wet 'n Wild has no shortage of rides for the thrill seeker. Whether you choose the Mach 5 - riding head-first down 1700 feet of twists and turns - or the Bomb Bay - where a trap door open under you and the slide free-falls a nearly vertical 76 feet - there's something to get your adrenaline flowing.
And once you're fully ready for adventure, take a ride on the Blue Niagara where you'll drop 6 stories in intertwined, enclosed flumes that twist along the way.
If one six story drop just isn't enough for you, you're in luck. Make your way to der Struka. Unlike the Blue Niagara, der Struka is a speed slide, dropping 250 feet before easing into a runway that will carry you another 115 feet before you stop.
What happens if you want to be able to ride with that special someone? Make sure to check out the Black Hole. One thousand gallons of water, a two-person tube, and 500 feet of twists and turns in the dark make for an adventure you'll never forget.
If you don't have a special someone with you, or you're looking for a fun ride with more people in your group, Wet 'n Wild also has a number of water rides designed for groups of four. Twists and turns are the primary components of the Flyer and the Surge.
But if you're looking for something that's appeals to all of your senses, make sure that you take in Disco H2O - this four person tube ride involves music and dancing lights to enhance the experience. And if you want to calm things down a bit, try the Bubba Dip that involves 3 drops spaced out over 6 stories of slide.
Even though many of the above rides are for older riders, there's still plenty for the kids. Not only does the kids' park have smaller versions of all of Wet 'n Wild's favorite rides, but there's also a shallow pool where kids can make a splash after climbing and bouncing on as well as sliding from a giant inflatable bubble.
With something for everyone, it's no wonder that Wet 'n Wild is a can't miss water park.
