Epcot Center
Published On: Jan 04, 2007

Well known for its shiny "geosphere" that resembles a giant golf ball, Epcot Center offers a full day of wonder and excitement. Established in 1982 as the "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow," this section of Disney World intertwines cutting technologies with a fascinating array of rides, shows and exhibits.

Be certain to throw on some comfy walking shoes because Epcot has a lot of ground to cover. It actually combines two theme parks into one with Future World and World Showcase.

Future World
This section of Epcot focuses on the Earth's environment, space exploration, communication, science, technology and inventive imaginations. Journey back in time at the "Universe of Energy" and learn about the origin of energy as we know it. Climb aboard "Spaceship Earth" and discover the history of communication throughout recent centuries. Team with Simba, Timon and Pumba as they teach you the importance of all creatures in the "Circle of Life" film. Explore the intriguing environment of greenhouses on the "Living with the Land" boat tour.

Also featured is a 5.7 million gallon aquarium named "Seas with Nemo and Friends". Hop inside a "Clam-Mobile" and explore this fascinating underwater realm filled with thousands of sharks, fish, dolphins and sea turtles. With the help of modern-day technology, Nemo and his pals actually appear within the giant tank so you can travel the seas with them as well.

Then there's the ever-popular "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" at "Imagination." Join the wily professor Wayne Szalinski and see what its like to be smaller than an inch.

World Showcase
Situated around a gorgeous lagoon is the World Showcase. Discover the cultures of eleven different countries. As you stroll along the waterfront each country reveals its own unique splendor through various shops, buildings, rides, foods and performances.

When the evening ensues be certain to stick around for the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth presentation. This incredible display features dancing fountains, a lightshow and spectacular fireworks choreographed to inspiring tunes.
